Skip James, one of the great Delta Blues artists, had a haunting voice and a distinct sound. If you don't know his music you owe it to yourself to give this a listen, then pick up some of his stuff. He was one of the Depression-era musicians who were thankfully rediscovered in the 1960s, so there are a number of recordings available. This track is from Skip James Today! (1965), and is considered one of the greatest blues songs ever written.
