Principally recorded at Record One Studios & Larrabee Studios, Los Angeles, California. Originally released on Epic/Sony (45400).

Digitally remastered by Bernie Grundman (Bernie Grundman Mastering, Los Angeles, California).

After a lengthy gap of nearly five years, Jackson had to pull something out of the bag. BAD was, after all, a difficult act to follow, and the press were trying to prove he was bonkers. This was a pretty decent attempt and fell in with the hard dance beat of the early 90s. "Heal The World" was much like the old melodic Jackson, and it became a major hit. "Black Or White" was the best of the rest, a well-constructed song in which he attempted to repeat "Ebony And Ivory" in the context of 90s dance music.

Michael Jackson - Forever, Michael [1975]

The album was Jackson's fourth as a solo artist and would end up being his final album released with Motown before he and his brothers (The Jackson 5) left for CBS Records a year later. This album displayed a change in musical style for the sixteen-year-old, who adopted a smoother soul sound that would be a catalyst for later solo records on Epic. more

Thriller is the sixth studio album by American pop singer Michael Jackson. It was released on November 30, 1982 by Epic Records, quickly becoming the best selling album of all time, selling between 45 and 100 million copies worldwide. Seven of the nine songs on the album went on to be top 10 singles.

Thriller cemented Jackson as the predominant pop star of the late 20th century, enabling him to break down racial barriers by appearing on MTV and visiting the President at the White House. The album was the first to use music videos as successful promotional tools, with the videos for "Thriller", "Billie Jean" and "Beat It" all receiving regular rotation on MTV.

The album itself also received overwhelmingly positive reviews, with All Music Guide giving it a perfect score. Thriller won the Grammy Award for Album of the Year as well as six others, and was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 2008. As a sign of the album's longevity, in 2003 Thriller was ranked #20 on the Rolling Stone 500 Greatest Albums of All time list.[2]

In 2001, the album was reissued as Thriller: Special Edition, which contained additional audio interviews, a demo recording and the song "Someone In the Dark", featured on the Grammy-winning E.T.: The Extra Terrestrial storybook, a record that won Jackson a Grammy for "Best Album for Children".[3] In 2008, the album was reissued again as Thriller 25, which contained remixes featuring contemporary artists, a previously unreleased song and a DVD.

Michael Jackson - Bad [1987]

Bad

01. Bad | 04:07 |
02. The Way You Make Me Feel | 05:00 |
03. Speed Demon | 04:01 |
04. Liberian Girl | 03:54 |
05. Just Good Friends | 04:08 |
06. Another Part Of Me | 03:55 |
07. Man In The Mirror | 05:20 |
08. I Just Can't Stop Loving You | 04:25 |
09. Dirty Diana | 04:52 |
10. Smooth Criminal | 04:19 |
11. Leave Me Alone | 04:39 |

Wouldn't you have hated to be Michael Jackson around 1986 to 1987? You're fixing to release your 3rd solo album and the official follow-up to the most successful album ever in Thriller. The resulting work would be Bad which would sell around 20 million or roughly half what Thriller sold. Bad would be the first album ever to have 5 #1's on it. However, in my opinion unlike Off the Wall and Thriller in which every track was good there were some forgettable tracks on Bad. This would start an alarming pattern for Jackson as his following albums after Bad would be uneven at best. I really feel that he was never the same after Bad and alot of that had to do with the unrealistic expectations he had in topping Thriller. The best tracks in my opinion on the album are as follows:

1) Bad -- A great up-tempo song, it was a smart choice to kick off the album.

7) Man in the Mirror -- One of my all-time favorite MJ songs. It may be his greatest ballad as only She's Out of my Life gives it any competition. Great background vocals by MJ, Siedah Garrett (who co-wrote the song), the Winans, and the Andrae Crouch Choir (who MJ would use on other songs in the future).

8) I Just Can't Stop Loving You -- A song that I swear that I do not remember hearing when it first came out. MJ's vocals sound alot like his partner's, Siedah Garrett.

9) Dirty Diana -- A great rockin' track that was sort of the sequel to Beat It. Steve Stevens, who was Billy Idol's guitarist, gives a great performance here and he tells one of the funniest stories I've ever heard. In a book on Billboard #1 hits, he tells how Quincy Jones has all these unusual sayings including the classic, "Steve, could you put a little more custard in your cone, man?" (Q meant that Steve was playing behind the beat).

10) Smooth Criminal -- Great overall feel to this song as MJ sings the vocals in machine gun like fashion.

11) Leave Me Alone -- A bonus track, I just like the overall feel of this song. However, I did not like the video. It (the video) sorta enhanced MJ's weirdness.

IMHO, Bad was the last great Michael Jackson album. I really feel that since Bad he has put out mediocre material.

Michael Jackson - Thriller 25th Anniversary - BONUS DVD

Thriller 25 is a 25th Anniversary edition of Thriller by Michael Jackson, the world's best-selling album.[2] It was released internationally on February 11, 2008 and the following day in the United States.[3]. Thriller 25 was released on Sony BMG's re-issue division, Legacy Recordings; Legacy previously released Thriller Special

As a bonus, the disc is accompanied by a DVD that features the digitally restored videos for "Thriller," "Beat It," and "Billie Jean," plus the Emmy-nominated performance of "Billie Jean" from the Motown 25 television special, which introduced the world to the "moonwalk" and launched Jackson into superstardom. Barnes & Noble

Tracklist:

1. BILLIE JEAN
2. BEAT IT
3. THRILLER
4. BILLIE JEAN The Legendary Performance from Motown 25: Yesterday, Today, and Forever

This second re-issue of Thriller is a better re-issue than the 2001 Special Edition. The sound quality is a lot better. But I still find it a tad lacking. It is missing "Can't get Outta The Rain" Which appeared on side 2/B of the 45 release of Billie Jean and "Got the hots" (Which is appearing on the Japan Release). Those 2 tracks should have been added. I wouldn't be surprised if the album has a 30th anniversary edition 5 years later with those 2 songs adeed. Also, The Kanye West Remix of Billie Jean was a tad disappointing. Kanye gave the song a great new beat but I was hoping to get a rap verse out of him on the track. The Fergie remix to Beat It wasn't too bad either. I have nothing against Fergie but I think that P!nk would have been a better choice for the song. Anyways, Like I said, this is a big improvement from the 2001 Special Edition. I think it's well worth getting for the better sound quality.

"Got To Be There" is a 1971 single released by Michael Jackson on the Motown label. It was the singer's first solo single following his successful tenure as the lead singer of The Jackson 5. Michael's solo career began in earnest after the success of "Got to Be There". The single, written by Elliot Willensky and produced by longtime Jackson 5 producer Hal Davis, was a success reaching number four on both the US pop singles and R&B charts, and reaching number five on the UK pop singles chart and helping to establish Jackson as a solo act while still with his brothers.

Michael Jackson - Invincible [2001]

Coming from a man who once stood on stage at a music awards ceremony and took on a persona of some modern day Christ figure, his choice of title, “Invincible”, comes as no surprise. And, in the eyes of thousands of die-hard Michael Jackson fans, the name is no doubt very fitting.
But, for the rest of us; those who choose to view Mr Jackson through specs of a slightly paler shade of pink, the answer may not be so irrefutable. more...

  3. "People Make the World Go Round" (Bell/Creed) (as originally performed by The Stylistics)

  9. "Shoo-Be-Doo-Be-Doo-Da-Day" (Cosby/Moy/Wonder) (as originally performed by Stevie Wonder)
  10. "You Can Cry On My Shoulder" (as originally performed by Brenda Holloway) (Gordy)

The album sold on the strength of Jackson's first number-one pop single with the title track and was named as the album title to help boost up album sales. None of the other songs from the album were issued as singles and one of the songs, "In Our Small Way", originally issued on Got to Be There, was featured on this album.

The original release of Ben's cover art contained Michael and a large army of rats near the bottom of the cover. However, Motown feared that the rats would scare some of the children from having their parents buy the album, and later pressings contained Michael without the rats. The original cover is now a rarity.

  2. Deep Purple - Smoke on the Water
  3. R.E.M. - Losing My Religion

  11. Madonna - La Isla Bonita
  12. Frankie Valli (1968) (identified as a Gloria Gaynor (1990) "cover" on the CD) - Can't Take My Eyes Off You

Dolapdere Big Gang established in the middle of 2004 by DJ producer Önder Ulugür. With 8 musicians mostly from the district of Dolapdere, İstanbul, the gang was formed. They perform the songs with their "Dolapdere Sound" by the "Alaturca" way.

Group members state their way of making music as follows: "Turkey is a country that mixes different cultures in its own because of its position in the world, it's a passway through eastern to western civilization. This mixture is very effective in Turkish way of life. We see that music gets its part from this mixture of different cultures. Till this day, Turkish music tried to adapt western vision, rhythms and style. What we are trying to do is completely the opposite way. We think, to get us listened worldwide goes through our local music from Turkey's multi cultured roots; not trying to be like western artists and imitating them. All these years we admired their songs; from Sting to Madonna, Deep Purple to Michael Jackson we performed their songs like 'us' in our own way. Now it's their turn to admire."[1]
